Charity Appell McNabb researches the creative process of fine artists both as a working artist and through interviews and experiments with other artists. The creative process is a discrete way to a specific end. However, it remains difficult to define, has enormous variation, and while known intimately by practicing artists, it remains invisible to most art viewers. This installation and series of events attempts to expose one artist’s practice, that while inchoate, nebulous, and amorphous, can be experienced. Through collaborations with other artists throughout the month, the artist will expand the discussion to include other artists’ practices in order to engage the viewer in this question, “What is the creative process?”
